Game Table

A spot for structured fun — which is still fun, despite what the structure implies.

⬥ Field Note №28 ⬥

The Gathering

Some discoveries happen on mountain trails.
Others happen around a table.

This corner of the field station is dedicated to puzzles, board games, card games, logic problems, strange thought experiments, and the occasional heated debate over rules that everyone was absolutely certain they understood five minutes earlier.

The games themselves change over time. What remains constant is the gathering: people sitting together, sharing stories, testing ideas, taking risks, making mistakes, and occasionally stumbling onto insights that seem much larger than the game that produced them.

A curious phenomenon has been observed.

When a game is good enough, the table quietly fills with unexpected guests. Old memories return. New ideas appear. Future plans emerge. Impossible situations become solvable. And for a little while, everyone sees the world from a different angle.

Researchers suspect this may be the true purpose of games.

Further study is recommended.
